NEXT MEETING: WEDNESDAY 30 SEPTEMBER
FENCIBLE LOUNGE, UXBRIDGE RD, HOWICK (NEXT TO THE HOWICK LIBRARY).
Our next club night is scheduled for next Wednesday, with our demonstrating artist to be Merv Appleton,
however this is to be confirmed. If Auckland stays at level 2.5 with restrictions on gatherings up to 10 people,
then we will not be able to meet. If however, we drop down to Alert Level 2 with gatherings of at least 50 or more, then we will go ahead with our club night. I will confirm as soon as the government announces what is going to happen, so please keep an eye out for a Newsflash early next week.
As we have had quite a disruptive year, we have decided to put off the AGM until November. This means we can squeeze in another demonstration in October. The AGM does not take very long at all,so we will combine it with our end of year party. We will get through all the formalities of the AGM nice and quickly, so we can get on with the important stuff, like celebrating us all surviving a very interesting year indeed. More information regarding the AGM will be coming out in the next newsletter.
I was approached by Briana Wooliams from Arts Out East. They would like to offer members of the group the opportunity to contribute to some ‘street art’ for the Howick area. Please see below for details.
“Arts Out East have a paid opportunity for a local painter. The project comprises of painting Howick landmarks on a wooden piano, that will be on display in Rices Mall. Fundraise factory have kindly donated the piano for members of the public to play and to rebuild a sense of community. Photos of Howick will be provided. Project to be completed by the end of October 2020. If anyone would be interested, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Take care and enjoy being creative.
