Artist: Wendy Oey
Wendy began painting 10 years ago, taking her first class in acrylics at the Uxbridge Art Centre. She loves to paint all kinds of landscapes, birds, and flowers, sometimes realistically and other times in a freer and looser style. She loves the variety of different mediums and textures which has also ventured her into the occasional mixed media. Watercolours and the amazing glow and flow of the paints meant she added this to her choice of medium in which to paint. Her latest adventure is into abstracts, learning to paint with the other side of her brain, with emotion and intuition rather than the structures of realism and impressionism. Wendy loves the fun of painting but says it is also hard work, working with all the techniques to find the balance of composition, design, colour, shape and more.
She has some new abstracts to exhibit alongside her acrylic and watercolour paintings. Don’t miss this excellent and very artistic exhibition.
You can call in on a Friday to have a chat to the artist on duty.
